Norwood Resource Center operates from The Nygren House —one of the oldest established homes in the Norwood area and a cherished gateway to the community.  Contracted and built by Mr. Leander Nygren in 1923, the house remained in the Nygren family until it was donated to the Norwood Neighborhood Association for use as a resource and education center.  The Nygren House contributes to the revitalization of the neighborhood by serving as an example of the potential of the other homes built during Norwood’s earlier years.  As a Northside Community Weed & Seed designated Safe Haven, The Nygren House is a key element in providing a safe place where a variety of services are coordinated in a highly visible, accessible facility that is secure against crime and illegal drug activity.
